SikaCrete-114
Product Overview
SikaCrete®-114 is a one-component, free-flowing, high-strength, cement-based micro-concrete. Unlike standard repair mortars or precision grouts, it contains larger aggregates (up to 10mm), making it suitable for pouring or pumping into large voids and thick sections where standard concrete cannot reach or would be difficult to vibrate
It is designed to be "shrinkage compensated," meaning it resists cracking as it cures, which is critical for structural integrity
Primary Uses
SikaCrete-114 is primarily used for the structural repair of deteriorated concrete, specifically in scenarios requiring significant volume or depth:
Thick-Section Repairs: Ideal for casting sections where the volume is too large for standard grouts but too small or inaccessible for regular concrete.
Re-profiling: Used to restore damaged concrete members (columns, beams) using formwork.
-
Base Plate Grouting (Heavy Duty): Suitable for grouting under base plates where the gap thickness exceeds 50 mm (sometimes cited as >100 mm depending on specific site requirements).
-
Void Filling: Filling cavities, gaps, and recesses in civil engineering structures.
Key Characteristics & Advantages
-
Free-Flowing: It has excellent flow properties, allowing it to self-compact and fill intricate voids without the need for vibration.
- High Strength: Develops high compressive strength rapidly, often exceeding 65 N/mm² (MPa) after 28 days
- Shrinkage Compensated: Reduces the risk of shrinkage cracks and ensures a tight bond with the host concrete
- Easy to Use: As a one-component product, it only requires the addition of water (eliminating mixing errors associated with multi-part systems).
-
Durable: High resistance to water penetration and chloride ingress
Because SikaCrete-114 is a "micro-concrete," it should not be used for thin-layer feather-edging or small cosmetic patch repairs (where a fine mortar would be better). It is engineered specifically for deep pours inside secure, watertight formwork.
